Loyal Drums founder,

Dave Loyal was raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and spent 12 years serving in the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps— the Official Escort to the President of the United States.

During his time with the Old Guard and Beyond, Dave has performed internationally with renowned ensembles including the Middlesex County Volunteers, the Greycoats, and the Grand Republic Fife and Drum Corps. His performances have spanned the globe, including appearances at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (Sydney), The Basel Tattoo, and the Oslo Tattoo.

He currently performs with The Grand Republic Fife and Drum Corps, continuing his commitment to the living tradition of American traditional music.

In pursuit of his passion for traditional drumming, Dave Loyal has presented clinics and masterclasses at PASIC, USARD, and SIRD symposium, as well as throughout the U.S. and around the world. He's been a dedicated educator, serving as as pillar of the teaching staff at the National Civil War Field Music School— where he held the role of director in 2011.

In 2012, Dave launched Loyal Drums to bring precision craftsmanship and modern innovation to the world of traditional rudimental drumming. Since then, he has worked with U.S. Military Premier Bands, foreign military bands, universities, fife and drum corps, and ensembles from Holland to Singapore.

Dave remains devoted to both preserving and expanding the traditional art form of rudimental drumming. His approach to manufacturing honors historical practices while boldly pushing the art into new territory.
