Loyal Drums founder, David Loyal, was raised in Fredericksburg, VA, and served for 11 years as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, The Official Escort to the President of the United States. In addition to his performances with the Old Guard, Dave has performed internationally with the Middlesex County Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps. These performances include the 2010 Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney, Australia, and The Basel Tattoo in 2012. He currently performs with The Grand Republic Fife and Drum Corps.
In pursuing his passion for historical drumming, Dave has presented as a clinician at The Percussive Arts Society International Convention and the United States Association of Rudimental Drummers Convention. He continues to present clinics and master classes throughout the U.S. and around the world. Dave has been a pillar of the teaching staff at the Don Hubbard Field Music School, and The National Civil War Field Music School, where he served as director in 2011. Dave launched Loyal Drums in 2012, and has since worked with most of the U.S. Military Premier Bands, as well as numerous foreign military bands ranging from Holland to Singapore. Dave continues to devote himself to the preservation and expansion of the traditional art form of Rudimental Drumming, while manufacturing related products in an old world style that will stand the test of time.
